Middlesbrough forward Chuba Akpom has admitted he has aspirations of featuring in the Premier League as he continues to enjoy a standout season in the second tier.
Akpom, who rose through the ranks at Arsenal as a youngster, made a handful of top-flight appearances for the Gunners but was unable to establish himself as a long-term first-team option.
A succession of loan spells both in England and abroad followed before he signed for Boro on a permanent basis in 2020. The 27-year-old is currently the Championship top-scorer andhas been linked with the Blues in recent weeks, along with other clubs.
Discussing his ambitions for the future in an interview withSky Sports, Akpom said: I feel like this last year or two Ive probably developed the most in my career. Ive shown a willingness to learn and improve my game. I feel hungrier than ever before. Youre never too old to learn and grow
I want to play in the Premier League, its where the best play and its a dream Ive always had.
Everton are understood to be considering offers for Anthony Gordon.
The Blues managed to keep hold of the 21-year-old during the summer window despite outside interest from fellow Premier League clubs, but are now said to be taking a different approach.
A number of Premier League rivals made enquiries about signing Gordon according mafter contract talks with Everton have seemingly stalled.
The above article adds Newcastle are long-term admirers of the Blues No.10, but add Aston Villa, Leicester City and Nottingham Forest are also interested.

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri was quizzed about the future of manager Frank Lampard after todays defeat.
The Blues were beaten 2-0 by West Hamin the Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon. The result leaves Everton mired in the relegation zone - above only Southampton on goal difference - and without a win in their last eight top flight fixtures.
Moshiri was at the London Stadium to watch Evertons loss. Prior to that match, he had not watched the Blues in action since their 5-2 defeat to Watford towards the end of 2021.
Moshiri was joined by chairman Bill Kenwright, chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale plus Graeme Sharp and director of football Kevin Thelwell in the capital. And after the game, two members of the board spoke to reporters.
First was Kenwright, who was asked by Sky Sports about the clubs current form.
Its been a bad run of results for us all and for Frank, said Kenwright. But I would never say that to you, he added, when asked if it was time for Lampard to leave the club.
Frank Lampard stressed he is prepared to dig in as Evertons struggles continued with a 2-0 defeat at West Ham United.
The Blues boss said it would be hard to suggest the situation is moving in the right direction after overseeing a run of eight league games without a win. The club now sit second from bottom, above Southampton only on goal difference.
Speaking after the loss at the London Stadium, Lampard laid out the challenge facing him - pointing to a lack of transfer funds and the sale of Richarlison over the summer. He said any progress would take time to materialise.
Asked whether he believed majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, in attendance for a game during Lampards tenure for the first time, had seen enough to be convinced the situation could change, the 44-year-old said he could not second guess the billionaire.
On whether there were signs of progress, Lampard responded: It would be hard for me to sit here and talk about the right direction in terms of recent results. Ive said it before games recently. We stayed up by the skin of our teeth last year. We were five points shy of safety with not many games to go. I said the other day I think we would maybe stay where we are and someone gave me a second question and said is that competitive enough talk, as such?
It was another difficult day for the Blues yesterday afternoon, losing 2-0 in the capital to ensure Everton remain in the relegation zone.
Questions continue to be asked of Frank Lampards future at the club as results worsen, with little signs of improvement to be noted of late.
We want to know your view on the Everton boss: would you continue to back the boss, or is it time for a change?
